Amer Fort
Amber Fort built in 16th century by Maharaja Man Singh, it
sprawls on the hillside. Its construction was started by Raja Man
Singh but completed by his descendant Jai Singh. Amber is the
classic romantic Rajasthan fort palace. Amber today is nothing but a
reflection of the glorious past of the fierce Kachwaha Dynasty that
ruled over this region from 12th to 18th century.

City Palace
City Palace known as core of the Rajasthan, which is situated in
the heart of the city. The Palace was conceived and built by Jai
Singh, but many of the apartments and halls were add by his
successors. The Palace is now converted in a museum except for a one
section where the erstwhile royal family still lives. The palace is
now a fine museum and houses a remarkable collection of textiles ,
paintings, manuscripts, and extraordinary weapons. On display are
two huge urns of silver, said to be the largest silver vessels in
the world.

Hawa Mahal
Jaipur's most famous landmark, built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai
Pratap Singh the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of the Winds, a fantasia
of 953 ornated windows set in a rose-colored five storey facade. The
palace has tier upon tier of curved arch surmounting fairy casements
with "jali" - lattice work screens. From here the ladies of the
court could look out at festive processions without jeopardizing
their modest seclusion.

Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar was built in 1718, by Sawai Jai Singh. He was a
great admirer of progress and research made in the fields of science
and technology, but he was passionate about astronomy. Jantar Mantar
is a grand celebration of astronomical science and each instrument
here serves a particular function and gives an accurate reading.

Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal is an 18th century pleasure palace and is located in
Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. The Jal Mahal Palace, Jaipur
is noted for its sophisticated design and grand architecture. The
Palace was developed as a pleasure spot and was used for the royal
duck shooting parties. |

Jaigarh Fort
Jaigarh fort is a rugged structure built in 1726 by Sawai Jai
Singh situated in the north of Jaipur. Its structure is quite
similar to Amber Fort. The only exception is that it houses the
mighty Jaivana, the largest wheeled canon in the world. Other
attractions in the Jaigarh Fort include three water tanks, a museum,
and breathtaking views of the city below.

Nahargarh Fort
Built mainly in 1734, the Nahargarh Fort lies North-West of City
Palace and provides some stunning views of the city. A royal retreat
for the Maharanis, it was also used as a personal treasury for many
years.

Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh
Along the road to Agra through a narrow gorge in the
South-Eastern corner of the walled city, several landscaped gardens
were constructed by the kings and important courtiers in the 18th
and 19th centuries. The largest and the most famous amongst these is
a garden built by Sawai Jai Singh II for his Sisodia Queen - The
Sisodia Rani-ka-Bagh.

Sanganer
Sanganer is located 16 km south of Jaipur and serves as the
airport for the city. The small town of Sanganer located near the
airport is famed for its block printing and papermaking craft
traditions. The most beautiful temple in Sanganer is the ancient
Shri Digamber Jain temple.

Ajmer
Ajmer 135 km from Jaipur. The city of Ajmer is famous as
a pilgrim place. It houses the Dargah or tomb of the popular
13th-century, Sufi Saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti.
Millions of pilgrims from all over the world throng Ajmer to attend
the death anniversary of the great saint every year. |

Samode
Samode 46 km from Jaipur. Samode with its fairytales palace that
has some of the most exquisite mirror work & frescos. It has now
converted into a heritage hotel. The haveli of this tranquil little
place showcase the role of painting in Rajputs architecture. Set
amidst the quite of protective hills Samode has its own cloth
printers, bangle makers & other artisans.

Pushkar
Pushkar 138 km from Jaipur. Pushkar is a city of temples of all,
through not as much old or in number as generally claimed. There are
very famous temples like Brahma Temple, said to be only one temple
dedicated to Lord Brahma. Savitri Temple on a hilltop. It has a
beautiful view of Pushkar Lake in the morning. |

Alwar
Alwar 150 km from Jaipur. The city of Alwar is referred to as
the gateway to the historic and colourful state of Rajasthan. The
Vinay Vilas Mahal, The Bala Fort are the main tourist attraction of
Alwar. The Lake beside the city palace complex, and the Tomb of
Sultan is another place to visit. |

Kishangarh
Kishangarh was a princely state ruled by the rathores and
located on national highway. Kishangarh is famous for its fort as
well as miniature painting style which is known as Kishangarh art.
Flower Palace is also converted in to a hotel is the main attraction
of the Kishangarh fort. Kishangarh is also rich in storehouse of
marbles. |
Galta
Galta 3 km west from Jaipur, Galta is a picturesque collection
of 250-year-old temples grouped around a sacred water tank. A deep,
temple-studded gorge stands behind the temple and there are good
views over the surrounding plains. |

Gaitor
Gaitor 6 km from central Jaipur on the road to Amber, the
walled complex of Gaitor contains the stately marble chhatris of
Jaipur's ruling family. Built by Jai Singh II, the complex
contains memorials to himself and his successors.
